Cyber Security

Why it matters

Attacks are routine. Being unprepared shouldn’t be.

Most attacks start with something ordinary: a convincing email, a reused password, a laptop that missed an update. We help you choose the protection that fits your size and risk, from the basics to round-the-clock monitoring, without buying tools you’ll never use.

Defence in depth

Protection in layers, not a single product

An attack has to get through every layer to reach your data. Here’s what each layer stops, and who in the business it matters to.

What each layer stops

Lost, stolen or unpatched laptopsDevices
Ransomware getting in through remote accessNetwork
Weak passwords and misconfigured Microsoft 365Cloud

What we put in place

People. Training and simulated phishing, so staff spot the email that matters.

Devices. Laptops and phones patched, encrypted and managed.

Network. Firewalls and secure access for every site and home worker.

Cloud. Microsoft 365 and cloud apps configured safely, with backups.

Data. Your most sensitive information protected at the centre.

Who it matters to

Finance

What would a breach cost us, and are we covered?

We line up the controls cyber insurers ask for, so renewals are smoother and the spend is easier to justify.

Operations

How quickly could we be trading again?

Tested backups and a clear response plan, so you know how you’d recover before you ever need to.

Customer Experience

Is customer and card data safe in the contact centre?

Secure card payments and tighter access controls keep customer details protected on every channel.

IT

How do we cover all this without hiring a security team?

Managed services that watch around the clock and work alongside your team, compared across the market.

What we source

Protect, detect, respond

Protect

Firewalls, email filtering, multi-factor sign-in, device management and staff training to stop most attacks before they start.

Detect

Endpoint detection and 24/7 monitoring so unusual activity is spotted in minutes, not months.

Respond and recover

A tested plan, immutable backups and specialists on call, so an incident is contained and you’re back up quickly.

Working towards Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed scheme that covers the basic controls every business should have, and more customers now ask for it in tenders. We can line up the tools and partners to help you get there, and to Cyber Essentials Plus.

What it costs

Our advice costs you nothing. When you buy through us, the supplier pays us a fee, on the same basis for every supplier we shortlist, so no one can pay for a better recommendation. If the right answer is to stay where you are, we’ll tell you.

Why Quetzel

Our team has worked inside security vendors, MSPs and systems integrators. We know which tools overlap, which services are worth paying for at your size and how to avoid being locked into one provider’s whole stack.

Questions we’re often asked

Are we too small to be a target?

No. Most attacks are automated and aimed at whoever is easiest to get into, whatever their size.

Do we need a 24/7 security operations centre?

Not always. For many businesses a managed detection service is enough; we match the level of cover to your risk.

Will you replace our IT provider?

No. We work alongside your IT team or provider and fill the gaps, rather than starting again.

Can you help with Cyber Essentials?

Yes. We can line up the tools and certified partners to help you achieve it and keep it.

Do you favour any vendor?

No. We compare across the market and every shortlisted supplier pays us on the same basis.

What does it cost to get started?

Our advice is free. You only pay for the services you choose, at prices we negotiate for you.

Want a straight view of your security?

We’ll look at where you are today, what your customers and insurers expect, and the few changes that make the biggest difference. Our advice costs you nothing to start.
