Cloud Marketplace Advisory
Working across all three

If your business has a committed spend agreement with AWS, Microsoft or Google Cloud, you can often buy other software through their marketplaces and have it count toward that commitment. We find what qualifies, negotiate the price and help you avoid paying for cloud capacity you never used.

The opportunity
What is a cloud marketplace?
AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Marketplace (formerly Azure Marketplace) and Google Cloud Marketplace are buying channels run by the three big cloud providers. Thousands of software and services suppliers sell through them, and eligible purchases can be paid for from the cloud budget you have already committed.
Spend you’ve already committed
Eligible marketplace purchases count toward your cloud commitment, so the money works for you rather than disappearing at year end.
Private offers, not list prices
A private offer is a contract negotiated for your organisation: your price, your licence terms, your configuration. That’s where the real savings are.
One invoice, fewer contracts
Purchases arrive on your cloud provider’s bill instead of dozens of separate supplier invoices, which takes a load off procurement.
Budget already approved
Because the spend comes from an existing commitment, there’s often no new budget line to sign off and no new procurement cycle.
Market scale
A fast-growing way to buy
Cloud marketplace spend is growing quickly, and more of it now goes through advisors and partners rather than direct.

The hyperscalers
AWS, Microsoft and Google compared
Each provider runs its own commitment programme with its own rules. Knowing how they differ is most of the job.
AWS Private Pricing Agreement
Formerly the Enterprise Discount Program (EDP). Marketplace purchases can count toward your commitment, but since May 2025 only SaaS fully hosted on AWS qualifies. AWS now tags eligible listings so you can check before you buy.
Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment
For eligible Microsoft Marketplace offers, 100% of the pre-tax purchase amount counts toward your MACC. The offer must be cloud-deployed; on-premises licences don’t qualify.
Google Cloud commitment
Google Cloud Marketplace purchases can count toward your Google Cloud commitment, and Google’s Marketplace Customer Credit Program adds credits on qualifying first-time purchases.
Your journey with Quetzel
Six steps from committed to covered
Discovery call
We map your cloud commitments across AWS, Microsoft and Google: your spend position, your year-end date and where the gaps are.
Opportunity map
Using live marketplace data, we identify which of your technology needs can be bought through a marketplace and count toward your commitment.
That’s the first two steps.
The other four, from private offer to long-term savings, are in our Cloud Marketplace brochure, along with the numbers behind them.
What it costs
Our advice costs you nothing. When you buy through us, the supplier pays us a fee, on the same basis for every supplier we shortlist, so no one can pay for a better recommendation. If the right answer is to leave your plans as they are, we’ll tell you.
Why Quetzel
We’re independent and work across AWS, Microsoft and Google, so we can look for marketplace opportunities across your whole technology estate, from UCaaS and contact centre to CRM, automation and cloud. We were named AVANT Trusted Advisor of the Year 2025.
Questions we’re often asked
Does marketplace spend really count toward my cloud commitment?
Eligible purchases do, but each provider sets its own rules on what qualifies. We check before you buy.
Will I pay more by buying through a marketplace?
Not usually. With a private offer the supplier prices the deal for your organisation, and you keep the benefit of reducing your commitment.
How much of my commitment can go through a marketplace?
It depends on your agreement. Some commitments limit how much marketplace spend can count, so we read your terms with you before planning anything.
What if my supplier isn’t on the marketplace?
Many enterprise software suppliers now sell through at least one of the three marketplaces. If yours doesn’t, we’ll tell you and look at alternatives.
Do you favour AWS, Microsoft or Google?
No. We work across all three and recommend what fits your commitments and your technology plans.
